Hi! I’m Michelle Carino Durkos! A voice teacher dedicated to sharing my love for the voice, while embracing yours!
Distinguished Pedagogue and international opera singer, Michelle Carino Durkos, has had a vast career performing and teaching professionally in both the United States and Europe. Ms Carino Durkos began her career after earning her Bachelors of Music specializing in Vocal Performance from The Catholic University of America. Her professional performances include singing with Washington Opera, Baltimore Opera, and Washington Concert Opera. She has performed under the baton of Metropolitan Opera conductor, Antony Walker. She has performed in many professional roles, most notably, Marcelina in Mozarts Le Nozze di Figaro, “The Witch” in Hansel and Gretel, and Zerlina in Don Giovanni. She has also performed small roles in Pensacola Opera’s Turandot and Madama Butterfly. Ms.Durkos has a real passion for teaching singing. As an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singers, she is up to date on new vocal research, pedagogy, and local performance opportunities. Teaching private voice lessons for the past 15 years, she specializes in all different styles and genres. She focuses her lessons on healthy singing, encouraging her students to sing with his or her own authentic voice. She is passionate about helping her students reach their goals and realize their potential. Ms Carino Durkos received her Distinguished Pedagogue title after attending a Vocal Pedagogy Workshop at Boston Conservatory the summer of 2020. A consummate learner, she just completed a number of classes at Shenandoah’s Contemporary Commercial Music Institute. She has students who sing on Broadway, in national off-Broadway tours, attend elite conservatories and have become finalists in national competitions.
